for treating yourself, your family and your clients.
You can also combine the TARA Approach with other
modalities such as massage, cranial sacral therapy, and physical
therapy, psychotherapy, nursing, other energy medicine treatments
and allopathic medicine.
The TARA Approach is available to educators in all
fields, parents, social workers, healthcare providers of all kinds,
substance abuse counselors, crisis workers, ministers, and anyone
committed to healing.
The training sequence consists of:
- Introductory/Self Care Training: The Map of the Body
- Module One: Pulse, the Ordinary Meridians, and Healing Trauma
- Module Two: The Rivers of Splendor and the Treatment of Shock
- Advanced Training: Chronic and Acute Conditions
- Practice Days (Practicums)
- Teacher Training
Certification is offered at all levels of training.
Classes are held throughout the US and internationally. Updated

~ THE TARA APPROACH CERTIFICATION PROCESS
& APPLICATION~
Under the auspices of the Dom Project, the 501.c.3
non-profit organization sponsoring all TARA Approach programs, the
following certificates are available after the required study:
FOUNDATIONS
(represents completion of foundation studies and practice –
see below);
ADVANCED
(represents completion of foundation studies and three advanced
courses);
For teachers:
Self-Care Teacher
(represents completion of self-care certification process –
see below);
Module One
(represents completion of Module One certification process –
see below);
Module Two
(represents completion of Module Two certification process –
see below).
FOUNDATIONS CERTIFICATION
To receive the Foundations Certification students
must complete two repetitions of the Self Care training, the Module
One training, the Module Two training, and Practicum.
ADVANCED CERTIFICATON
Students with the Foundations Certificate must complete
three advanced trainings to qualify to receive the Advanced Certificate.
The advanced certification is required for the Module One Teacher
Certification.
SELF CARE TEACHER CERTIFICATION
Students who have received the Foundations Certification
and have taken a minimum of one Advanced Training are eligible to
apply to take the Self Care Teacher Certification Training. Application
is done through submitting a request directly to Dr. Mines. Applicants
must also assist in teaching at least one training under the direction
and supervision of a Certified TARA Approach Teacher. Documentation
of teaching is provided through feedback forms from students and
summary reviews by the candidate and the supervising teacher. In
addition, applicants are required to read WE ARE ALL IN SHOCK, SEXUAL
ABUSE/SACRED WOUND, ENERGETIC PATHWAYS, all TARA Approach treatment
guidebooks, and THE DREAMING CHILD by TARA Approach founder Stephanie
Mines, and to engage in a minimum of three mentorship sessions with
her. Documentation of reading will be provided through written reviews
of each book.
MODULE ONE TEACHER CERTIFICATION
Students wishing to be certified to teach Module
One must have a Foundations certificate and an Advanced Certificate.
They must also have completed the Self-Care Teacher Certification
training. In addition, they must fulfill the following requirements:
- COMPLETE THE TEACHER APPLICATION;
- PAY THE TEACHER APPLICATION FEE;
- BE ACCEPTED AS AN APPLICANT FOR MODULE ONE TEACHER CERTIFICATION;
- ASSIST IN SELF-CARE AND MODULE ONE TRAININGS (AT LEAST ONCE
FOR EACH);
- GIVE A FIVE DAY TREATMENT INTENSIVE AND DOCUMENT THE EXPERIENCE;
- RECEIVE A FIVE DAY TREATMENT INTENSIVE AND DOCUMENT THE EXPERIENCE;
- RECEIVE ONGOING MENTORSHIP FROM STEPHANIE MINES AND/OR A CERTIFIED
TEACHER;
- PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION IF MENTORSHIP IS WITH SOMEONE OTHER THAN
STEPHANIE;
- DOCUMENT ONGOING TREATMENT WITH SOMEONE WHO HAS A CHRONIC OR
LIFE THREATENING ILLNESSS;
- DOCUMENT TREATMENT AND/OR TEACHING PROVIDED USING THE TARA
APPROACH FOR A COMMUNITY SERVICE AGENCY;
- TEACH A SELF-CARE CLASS AND PROVIDE VIDEO AND FEEDBACK FORM
DOCUMENTAITON;
- PROVIDE AN ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY OF BOOKS FROM A LIST TO BE
PROVIDED OF READINGS IN THE FIELDS OF TARA APPROACH TREATMENT.
The annotated bibliography must include 3-5 books in each of the
following three areas: energy medicine, neurobiology-neurochemistry,
shock and trauma. Students can choose from the bibliography in
We Are All in Shock or the bibliography available in the handout
Differentiating Shock from Trauma.
Module One teachers have a contractual agreement
with the Dom Project in regard to teaching.
MODULE TWO TEACHER
CERTIFICATION
Teachers who have received Module One Teacher certification
can proceed to fulfill the requirements to teach Module Two. These
are:
- Prepare a statement about why you want to teach Module Two,
including your goals and objectives. List your qualifications
for teaching Module Two. This is considered your application.
- Read The Eight Extraordinary Meridians by Larre and de la Vallee
(Monkey Press, 1997). Write a report on the correlations between
the eight extraordinary meridians and the treatment flows in Book
Two, Jin Shin TARA.
- Assist in at least one Module Two training, including teaching
segments of the training and receiving feedback.
- Complete an Advanced Training in Experiential Embryology and
Pre and Perinatal treatment.
- Write an annotated bibliography of 3-5 books on embryological
development and/or prenatal life. A list of books will be provided
if necessary.
Treat at least one pregnant woman for several months
or throughout her pregnancy and document this experience. Report
on the flows used and the responses to treatment.
Module Two teachers have a contractual agreement
with the Dom Project.
For all certificates, re-certification is required
on a yearly basis.
