|
| Course Description |
The study of Yoga, the study of Oriental Medicine and Neuroscience, or the
study of the brain and the nervous system, are one and the same. To
understand why this is so and how a heightened consciousness of all three
will enhance your health and vitality, attend this remarkable and unique
program.
The program is the form of two workshops. Each workshop introduces you to
three of the Elements of Nature and how they live in your body and your mind
as well as in the world of nature. This is the paradigm of the TARA
Approach. The first workshop on May 11 is about the elements of Earth, Wood
and Fire. The second, on May 12, is about Water, Air and Primordial Fire.
The focus is on how Yoga and Oriental Medicine utilize these elements to
unlock intelligence, optimum health, structural and mental resilience and
emotional balance. The interactive quality of the emotions, the brain and
the body will be the theme in both of these experiential workshops.
The TARA Approach fuses neuroscience and Oriental Medicine. It was developed
by Dr. Stephanie Mines. Its efficacy has been tested in the treatment of
Traumatic Brain Injury, Stroke, Aphasia and Autism. In this system there are
26 Power Points on the body that harmonize all the elements within you. You
will learn these Power Points in this program.
You have in your own fingertips the capacity to integrate, optimize and
drive your potential forward in your life. These workshops will show you
how.

Play, movement, creativity and communication are the building blocks of joy. They are also the best brain development available. When families move and play together they cultivate resiliency for children's developing brains. They also keep the family happy, related, and growing together. Jackie Diner, movement educator and owner of Joy in Motion Studio, joins with neuroscientist Stephanie Mines, Ph.D. for an afternoon of pre-vacation play. This is the perfect event to prepare you for those car trips, family visits and summer excursions. Transform tight spots into springboards of resiliency.
This two hour workshop is for parents, special educators and children. They will learn separately and together. While adults learn experientially about brain development with Stephanie, the kids will be jamming with Jackie. Adults explore short-hands-on ways to change nervous system wind ups to fluid cooperation and how to heal owies of all kinds. Then everyone will come together to celebrate who we are through movement and play. This will be the first in a series of interactive kinesthetic learning labs to strengthen and empower sustainable somatic tools forintergenerataional joy.
Both Stephanie and Jackie are committed to inclusion. Families living with autism, disabilities and sensory integration needs of any kind are very welcome, along with the care providers who serve them. ESSENCE AND EMPOWERMENT: The TARA Approach
|

| Location |
Findhorn, Scotland

| Facilitated by |
TARA Approach Founder, Stephanie Mines, Ph.D. |
| Course Description |
The TARA Approach is an integrative design that fuses Western neuropsychology and a simple meridian based touch system. Developed by Stephanie Mines, Ph.D., the TARA Approach has been clinically tested as a rehabilitative therapy. Its special gift is that it restores the innate balance of the nervous system even after dramatically overwhelming experience. We live in a world of increasing sensory inundation. Identifying and following one's purposeful inner guidance becomes more and more complicated. The TARA Approach guides you back to your essential purpose, the one you brought with you when you were conceived and empowers you to follow your truth into this world where it is desparately needed.
Participants in this course learn how to reclaim and support their essential selves using a combination of dialogue and applied touch. Professional practitioners as well as lay people can engage equally in the stirring reclamation of self that restores the health of the physical and energetic bodies simultaneously. Those who have experienced shock or trauma of any kind will be happy to find this simple approach to recovery. Those with chronic or mysterious health conditions will be amazed at how quickly these diagnoses disappear. Those in life transitions will be supported in finding their way to the next level of their evolution.
Dr. Stephanie Mines is the author of numerous books including the award winning We Are All in Shock: How Overwhelming Experience Shatters You and What You Can Do About It. She was the keynote speaker at the Findhorn Conference on Conscious Medicine in April 2011. Her new books on sensory integration will be released from Jessica Kingsley Publications in 2013. Dr. Mines teaches internationally. She is based in Boulder, Colorado, USA.
