| SOME PRACTICAL SUGGESTIONS
FOR PEOPLE WITH MS FROM THE TARA By
SHAKY LEGS: Anyone who exercises new or tired muscles gets shaky. The shakiness is a good sign! It means you are awakening something that was asleep. It means you have stretched yourself and challenged yourself in new ways. Feel good about your shakiness! To ground the new energy in your legs and to feel more secure and stable, hold POINT #1 (on the inside of the knee - see chart). This point sends needed energy into your legs. You can hold the right or the left side, or both sides simultaneously. You can cross your hands or not, as feels comfortable. Just sit for a minute after you exercise or when you are feeling shaky, and hold POINT #1. If you cannot reach POINT #1, hold HIGH 1. This is on the mid-thigh. You can hold the inside and outside of the mid-thigh on either or both sides. How long do you hold? You hold until you feel a resonant, deep pulse in your fingertips or you hold until you feel warm. You can hold until you are ready to stop holding. It's up to you! What is most important is that the shakiness will subside and when it does, you can confidently move on! If you cannot hold POINT #1 or HIGH 1 or if that is not sufficient to stop the shaking, you can hold your middle finger. First hold the right and then the left. Touching the middle finger energizes the Wood Element within your body and the Wood Element rules your muscles. See the chart of the fingers and the chart of the elements to learn more about this interaction. The most important thing to know is that you can send a message of strength to your muscles by holding your middle finger. Hold the entire finger or hold the base of the finger. You may feel a pulse that rises into the hand holding the finger. Or, you may feel heat in your muscles. Or, you may heave a sigh of relief as the shaking stops! Holding the middle finger will also help overall muscles weakness, so hold that finger regularly! Shakiness is also treated by holding POINT #24 (front of the foot, between little and ring toes) and POINT #26 (outer edge of armpit, on the back), on opposite sides. This is a more difficult position to sit in easily, but if the shakiness happens under circumstances where you can hold these two points, three times on each side, reversing the flow every time the pulses balance, do it. This is another extremely potent and proven method of allowing shakiness to complete itself and end, giving you more stability physically and emotionally. WEAKNESS IN THE HANDS: The very practice of energy medicine will eventually correct any feeling of weakness in the hands. Energy medicine uses the hands as an extension of the heart and the spirit, which resides in the heart. This is Fire Energy! You strengthen your hands when you strengthen your heart, so express your love and your hands will move with passion! To strengthen your Fire Energy (your spirit, love, creativity and expression) hold: POINT #22, just under the collarbone (both sides). If your hands are weak, do not exert any effort to hold the points. REST your hands on the areas of the points, and use the palm of your hand rather than the fingers. Remember that with this system touch does not have to be strong or penetrating. It is presence and healing intent, awareness and consciousness that make the difference, not physical strength. DIZZINESS AND OVERALL WEAKNESS: Dizziness and overall weaknesses are imbalances of the Water Element. The Water Element also rules the immune system and the nervous system. For immediate relief from dizziness hold POINT #4, on the occipital ridge. If the dizziness persists, hold the base of the spine and pubic bone (simultaneously). If you are still dizzy, cross your arms in front of yourself and hold both HIGH 19's, on the middle upper arm, laterally and medially. Another quick resource for dizziness is the Index Finger which rules the Water Element. The Index Finger is also the treatment for overall weakness, panic and fear. Another treatment for overall weakness is the Adrenal Tonifier. This is done by holding the coccyx and the middle of the chest or MIDDLE POINT 13. This allows your kidney-adrenal system to recover from all the demands of illness as well as the deep shock of diagnosis which sometimes lingers in the body for a very long time. As your kidney-adrenal system recovers, your overall strength in all regards, including spiritual strength, will rally enormously. Dizziness, weakness and balance are all Water Element issues, so the above treatment for dizziness and weakness will also provide balance. PAIN AND FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN: Fear of the unknown involves the disharmony of two elements - Wood and Fire. We have already seen how important these elements are in the symptoms of MS. The Wood Element, when balanced, gives us VISION, including future vision. The Fire Element gives us SPIRITUAL CONFIDENCE in this FUTURE VISION. The two together, when balanced, eradicate fear of the unknown. We put our present condition into a larger perspective. This, interestingly, is also the greatest PAINKILLER. To energetically evoke spiritual perspective and thereby decrease pain, you can hold: POINT #13 - On the chest - to open the heart and increase
integration. Putting your hands together, gently pressing palm to palm, fingers to fingers, is called PALM INJU or PRAYER MUDRA. This brings you into the center of yourself providing balance, fearlessness, vision, and intention - everything you need! "Goddess looks through your eyes and is your
